Nail salon questions

Can I …? Asked by nail artists.

Chrome on a Gel Manicure, a soak-off before a fresh set, infills every two weeks and a hen party on a Saturday morning. Here is how NextSlot runs a nail studio — each answer shown on your side of the station and on your client’s phone.

Regulars and artists

Your regulars and your nail artists.

Can I book a regular’s infills every two weeks, all in one go?

Yes. When you book their infills from your calendar, set them to repeat every week, every two weeks or every month, choose how many visits, and the whole run lands in the diary at once.

Each one is marked as part of a series. If a date is already taken you can skip it, and if they’re away one week, cancel just that one — or everything still to come.

Can my senior nail artist charge more for a BIAB overlay?

Yes. Give each level in your studio its own price — Nail Artist, Senior Nail Artist, Lead Artist, whatever you call them — and NextSlot charges the right one automatically.

Clients see “from £48” on the menu, then the exact price the moment they pick their nail artist. Each level has its own time box too, so a newer artist can take longer over an overlay.

Can clients see each nail artist’s work before they book?

Yes, on every plan. Open a nail artist on your Team page, press “Add photos” under Portfolio and pick up to 9 photos of their work from your media library.

When a client taps that artist’s face on your profile page, the photos show under “Recent work by Mimi” — so the client who wants chrome and hand-painted art finds the artist who does it best.

Friends and groups

Side by side, or the whole hen do.

Can two friends have their nails done side by side?

Yes. One booking holds up to three people, each with their own treatment — a Gel Manicure for one friend, a BIAB Overlay for the other.

They choose “At the same time” to be done together, each with their own nail artist, or “One after another” to take turns. NextSlot only offers times when enough nail artists are free.

Can I take a hen party of eight?

Yes. Turn up your largest group in Settings — up to 10 people. Groups above three all have the same treatment, and NextSlot seats them in waves across your nail artists, as close together as it can.

The organiser books everyone in one go and sees who sits when before confirming. You set how long the longest visit may run, and can have the group pay one deposit to hold the seats.

The studio

Clean, careful and paid for.

Can I take a deposit on a long acrylic set?

Yes. Take a fixed deposit, a percentage or the full price when the client books, paid straight into your own Stripe account. NextSlot takes 0% commission on it.

Tell us the rule for each treatment — say £15 on an Acrylic Full Set — and we switch it on with you. The booking is only confirmed once the payment goes through, so a 90-minute slot is never held on a maybe.

Can I make sure a client has had a patch test before gel?

Yes. Worried about HEMA and gel allergies? Mark a gel, BIAB or acrylic treatment as needing a patch test. A client with no valid test on file is asked to book a free patch test at least 48 hours before, right there on the booking page.

You choose how long a test stays valid, and clients are reminded before theirs runs out. Your team always sees a warning too.

Can I leave time to sterilise tools between clients?

Yes. Add a buffer before or after any treatment — 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes — to sterilise tools, clear the dust and reset the station.

Clients never see it and cannot book into it. You see it shaded on your calendar, so a 90-minute full set is followed by a proper clean-down, not the next client.
